You will be seen by a fully qualified Registered Osteopath.
We realise that some people are nervous about visiting an Osteopath, therefore you are always welcome to bring a friend or relation into the treatment room with you if you wish.
Please always ask the Osteopath to explain anything they say or do at any time during your appointment as feedback is important, and working together will benefit your recovery. If you feel any discomfort at any time, PLEASE do inform the practitioner.
The Osteopath will ask detailed questions about yourself, to learn about your current complaint, about your general health, any medication you are taking, about your previous medical history including operations and illnesses, and all about your lifestyle.
Some questions may seem not relevant to you and unnecessary but all this information is essential and important to help the Osteopath make an accurate diagnosis and plan an appropriate and safe treatment for you.
The Osteopath will need to examine the area which is causing problems and also other areas which may relate to your condition, therefore you will usually be asked to undress to your underwear. You may wish to bring loose shorts to wear, also towels are available for your comfort.
