The Osteopaths Walters~Pearce~Perkins~Cadwallader, formerly known as Catherine J Walters & Associates and The Osteopathic Centre, is one of the most established Osteopathic clinics in Hertfordshire providing Osteopathic health care since 1986.

The practice has established strong professional links with local health care professionals and continues to forge connections with sports and leisure organisations in the local communities in and around Hertfordshire.

Our Objective

The objective of the practice is to enable patients to receive individually tailored quality care and attention.  We allocate an hour for the consultation on the first appointment. This allows for a thorough case history assessment of all our patients’ symptoms, concerns and needs followed by a thorough examination which allows time to discuss the findings and possible treatment.  Home visits are also available, please see our ‘Appointments and Fees’ page for more information.  The average number of visits per patient is dependent upon the problem.

  • For the first visit allow an hour for a case history assessment and treatment.
  • Allow 30 minutes for any suggested follow up treatments.
  • Allow 1 hour for home visits.
  • Treatment rooms are provided on the ground floor with easy access.

We are recognised by all major insurance companies – Bupa, AXA/PPP, Aviva, Simply Health, WPA, Vitality and Cigna.  Please inform Reception when booking your appointment if you will be claiming on an insurance policy, so we can select for you the appropriate Osteopath.

At The Osteopaths Walters~Pearce~Perkins~Cadwallader we believe in a holistic and caring approach to our patients. Our main objective is to help you. The human body has its own healing powers,  but it can need help to enable the body to promote better healing.

We all follow the Osteopathic Philosophy however we all have our own technique styles so we do practise as a team but may suggest you see another Osteopath to try a different approach.

Osteopaths are regulated by law and recognised as one of the Allied Health Professions by NHS England. This guarantees patients a high level of care.  For more information please visit www.england.nhs.uk/ahp/.

Dates for Diary

Backcare Awareness Week14th – 20th October 2024

I’ve been coming to see Catherine Walters for various problems over the past 20 years for both sports related injuries and back pain caused by poor posture. She diagnoses the issue straight away and carries out the appropriate treatment to get me back to normal very quickly. I can highly recommend her ~ H S.

Having tried other osteopaths in the past I can honestly say The Osteopaths Walters~Pearce~Mercer~Perkins is by far the best that I have been to. Apart from the wealth of experience and knowledge Catherine Walters has she has the ability to quickly diagnose the problem and treat me without causing more pain. You always feel her main priority is your wellbeing ~ M S.

Patrick Pearce is an excellent Osteopath for me. Suffering from neck and shoulder issues I always leave a consultation feeling much better and with good advice on how to prevent my neck hurting – the trick is to follow the advice but that is in my own hands! The practice utilises a wide range of techniques including cranial osteopathy, acupuncture as well as traditional and 21 century solutions. I highly recommend this practice ~ C M.

I have been going to this practice (over various iterations of name changes and consultant changes) on and off for about 30 years. It is by far the most professional I have encountered and I can honestly state that I would not be walking now (let alone playing golf!) if it was not for the skill and professionalism of this group of people. Each of the practice consultants is supremely competent and, as a bonus, really nice people. If you need osteopathy, or if you even think you need it but are worried about it, then this group are unlikely to be bettered ~ N W.

I’ve tried many Osteopaths and Rebecca’s distinctive style certainly differs from others. I’d given up thinking my back would recover but I’ve made remarkable progress and I feel there is light at the end of the tunnel. I’m so pleased to be suffering less with chronic back pain and it is a joy to be able to move and sleep better ~ J W.

I particularly like that the Osteopaths and Physiotherapists at The Folly work as a team, which shows their priority is the patient because they suggest that a different approach or treatment from someone else in the Practice may benefit you. I also appreciated their very positive manner which makes such a difference when you’re extremely concerned about the problem you have. There’s always a very warm, friendly and efficient atmosphere which immediately removes any anxiety that can be felt when first needing to see an Osteopath or Physiotherapist ~ K D.

I can’t recommend this friendly and professional practice highly enough. I first visited in my early twenties when I was experiencing debilitating daily neck pain and headaches. Having seen multiple recommended physiotherapists, osteopaths and doctors in London, who had spent months trying to work out the root of my problem, (to no avail and at great cost!) I was at my wit’s end, in agony, and beginning to worry that I would never feel normal again. After a thorough consultation with Patrick, I had a clear diagnosis and a treatment plan. The treatment I received gradually took my pain away and handed me my life back. I have been visiting for regular check-ups ever since. I am currently receiving treatment during pregnancy, and arrived for my most recent appointment unable to walk due to lower back pain. After one session with Cathy I was back on my feet. She is a miracle worker! I am hugely grateful to Cathy and Patrick who have always looked after me with the utmost care. They are both brilliant, highly-skilled Osteopaths ~ C N.

I have suffered with severe back ache since I was in my late teens.  Eighteen years ago my GP suggested I went to see Cathie Walters as nothing was helping me and I was struggling to cope.  Within a few weeks Cathie had transformed my life and regular treatments from her improved my health and well-being no end.  Fifteen years ago I moved, with my family, to Norfolk and, although Cathie offered to find me a good Osteopath locally, I was so pleased with the care I had been receiving, I preferred to continue seeing Cathie.  I still travel down for treatment from her every four weeks and it is really worth the mileage!  I can honestly say that she has given me a quality of life that, without her, I would never have had ~ R B.

Dear Mr Slater, Thank you for your good treatment yesterday.  It is a great relief to walk again without the pain of those corns!  I shall know where to come if I need any further treatment.  Your careful hygiene precautions were much appreciated ~ B C.
